Project Timeline

05 Jan 2026 – 05 July 2026

Why This Project Matters

Thokoza’s young people face urgent challenges:

  • Rising juvenile crime and drug use
  • Worsening youth unemployment
  • School dropout and lack of skills
  • Few safe, structured alternatives to street life

What We’re Doing

Through this 7-month micro-project, we will:

  • Train 50 youth in shoemaking and bag-making
  • Hire 2 experienced local trainers
  • Provide transport, food, and all materials
  • Issue starter toolkits and graduation certificates
  • Structure training in weekly rotating groups (10 learners at a time)
  • Each participant will complete 375 hours of guided, practical skills training.

Impact Goals

  • Reduce crime risk by engaging idle youth in structured learning
  • Uplift young women with technical and economic empowerment
  • Encourage micro-enterprise creation and job readiness
  • Create a model youth artisan hub that can expand across townships

How You Can Help

We’re seeking donors, sponsors, and partners to:

  • Fund scholarships for youth trainees
  •  Sponsor tools, equipment, or materials
  • Connect us with job markets or buyers
  • Spread the word!
